Role Description
Teach IAET 2004 – Network Systems and support student learning and success in the Instrumentation and Automation Engineering Technology program. Responsibilities include designing and delivering courses, assessing student learning, engaging colleagues, and pursuing career development activities. Faculty are expected to develop their teaching practice over time while contributing to the institution’s mission of innovation and student success.
Responsibilities
- Deliver courses congruent with established curriculum and program outcomes
- Support the success of students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles
- Assess student learning in ways that both facilitate learning and ensure achievement against appropriate academic standards
- Inspire students by exhibiting enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and subject material
- Work collegially within department, school, or institution committees and project teams
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering Technology, a diploma in Network Administration, or an equivalent closely related discipline
- At least 2 years of post‑graduation work experience related to the field
- Relevant professional designations such as CET or P.Tech, if applicable
- Knowledge of Introduction to Computer Programming, Network Systems, and IT Networks
- Alternate combinations of related education, certification, and work experience may be considered
Preferred Qualifications
- Post‑secondary teaching experience
- Experience related to engineering or engineering technology
- 10 years of post‑graduation work experience in a related field
Salary and Compensation
Salary commensurate with education and teaching experience at the post‑secondary level. Part‑time instructors receive an additional 14% of the gross salary in lieu of benefits and vacation pay.
