Newstead Academy Markham is looking for a friendly, energetic, and responsible French-Speaking Program Assistant to join our team.

This is a excellent opportunity for someone who speaks French and enjoys working with young children. Previous teaching or childcare experience is not required. Training, lesson plans, and teaching materials will be provided.

The successful candidate will support our school programs and help introduce French to young children through simple, engaging activities such as songs, stories, games, vocabulary, movement, and conversation.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the delivery of French activities for children ages 2–6
- Introduce basic French vocabulary and everyday expressions through play and conversation
- Lead simple French songs, stories, games, and group activities
- Follow lesson plans and program materials provided by Newstead Academy
- Prepare materials and resources for classroom activities
- Assist teachers with classroom projects and special programs
- Help create an engaging, positive, and welcoming learning environment
- Interact with children in a warm, patient, and enthusiastic manner
- Support school events, enrichment programs, and other program-related activities




- Work collaboratively with teachers and the school leadership team

Qualifications
- Comfortable communicating in French
- Good English communication skills
- Enjoys working with young children
- Friendly, energetic, patient, and dependable
- Willing to learn and participate in training
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience in childcare, camps, tutoring, customer service, recreation, or education is an asset, but not required

Work Location

This position may require you to work at either of our Richmond Hill or Markham campuses, depending on program and staffing needs.

Position: Full-Time / Part-Time
