As the Front End Manager at our Oak Bay store, you’ll lead and support our cashier team, oversee cash handling and daily front-end operations, and help ensure everything runs smoothly from the checkout to the aisles. We’re looking for a motivated, organized leader with retail and cash management experience who enjoys working with people and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Leadership: Supervise and motivate front-end staff while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Manage Front End Operations: Ensure efficient checkout operations, proper procedures, and smooth workflow during busy periods. Schedule shifts, hire new staff and train staff.
- Cash Handling: Count and manage cash, process credit card and Barn Bucks gift card transactions.
- Customer Service: Lead by example in providing friendly, helpful service. Scan items, bag groceries, and assist with inquiries, returns, and concerns. Answer phone calls.
- Store Appearance: Oversee cleanliness and organization of checkout lanes, entryways, and exit areas. Arrange displays and promotional materials at the front end.
- Inventory Control: Manage front-end supplies, including bags, receipt paper, and other essentials.



Reorder as needed.
- Teamwork: Work closely with other departments to enhance overall store operations.

Qualifications:

- Experience: Previous experience in retail management or a related role. Previous cash management experience is mandatory. Experience with ordering and scheduling is an asset.
- Leadership Skills: Outstanding leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Cashier Experience: Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and cash handling.
- Customer-Centric: Friendly, approachable, and committed to exceptional service. Customer-focused mindset.
- Skills: Ability to handle high-pressure situations during peak hours. Strong attention to detail.
- Availability: Full-time position. Adaptable availability wanted, including daytime, evenings, and weekends.
