Responsibilities

- Installing and assembling components on an aircraft structure.
- Reading blueprints and creating hole layouts, countersinking, and deburring.
- Fitting and installing conventional rivets and Hi‑Lite fasteners.
- Assembling and fitting pre‑fabricated parts to form subassemblies, working at benches or directly on an aircraft structure.
- Applying manual solvent, conductive chemical conversion treatment and paint touch‑up.
- Using a variety of power and hand tools, jigs, fixtures and other equipment.
- Meeting schedule and production requirements.
- Working rotating shifts, including days, afternoons, nights, and overtime as required.
- Using personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times on the plant floor (e.g., safety glasses, safety shoes and ear plugs) and following all health & safety procedures.
- Passing a Pulmonary Fit Test for respirator use in chemical or odor‑exposed areas; must be clean shaven as per CSA requirements.
- Performing tasks in restricted spaces (tanks)



and at heights (3rd floor of jigs).
- Standing for up to 7 hours of an 8‑hour shift.
- Performing heavy lifting (<40lbs) as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

- Very experienced with hand tools/power tools for drilling, countersinking, torquing, and installing fasteners (including Hi‑Lites).
- Very experienced at reading blueprints and interpreting technical drawings (2D and 3D).
- Experience with sub‑assemblies, sheet metal assembly, mechanical assembly, etc.
- Ability to work shifts to accommodate production scheduling.
- Past experience within an aerospace or manufacturing environment.
- Flexibility and willingness to learn new tasks.
- Exposure to quality systems and safety fundamentals.
- 4–6 years of experience in aircraft assembly is required.
- Education: Sheet Metal Fabrication Course, Aerospace Structures Course, Aeronautical Technology Education, or similar.
- Must be physically fit, energetic, agile, and willing to work in restricted spaces, at heights, bend, twist, walk on uneven surfaces, climb stairs, and perform the above tasks continuously during the shift.
