Advertek is expanding to Burlington and is looking for an experienced General Bindery Worker with strong hands-on experience in book binding, hand finishing, and general bindery operations.

This is a hands-on production position suited to someone who enjoys working with printed products and takes pride in quality workmanship. The successful candidate will work across our bindery and finishing departments, assisting with book production, hand assembly, finishing, packaging, and other specialty print projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform a variety of hand-finishing and bindery operations for books, brochures, packaging, displays, and specialty print products.
- Assist with book binding and book finishing, including assembling, gluing, casing, folding, gathering, trimming, and other finishing processes.
- Perform hand work such as collating, inserting, assembling, taping, gluing, mounting, wrapping, and packaging.
- Assist operators with the setup and operation of bindery and finishing equipment as required.
- Perform quality inspections throughout production to ensure products meet job specifications.
- Follow job tickets and production instructions carefully.
- Sort, count, organize, and prepare printed materials for finishing and shipping.
- Assist with short-run and custom projects requiring detailed hand work.
- Work with the Book Manufacturing, Bindery, Digital, Wide Format, and Shipping departments to maintain production flow.
- Help with machine cleaning,



basic maintenance, and keeping work areas organized.
- Identify quality issues and bring them to the attention of the appropriate supervisor or operator.
- Meet production deadlines while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in a commercial printing, bindery, bookbinding, or finishing environment is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with book binding and hand-finishing techniques is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with different paper stocks, covers, adhesives, and printed materials.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Valuable hand dexterity and ability to perform detailed repetitive tasks.
- Ability to read and follow job tickets and production instructions.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a production team.
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn new equipment and processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Previous experience operating bindery equipment is an asset.
