General Labourer - Scrap Metal Yard

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, hard working, and safety-consious General Labourer/Machine Operator to join our Scrap Metal Team. The positon involves a variety of physical labour duties including, sorting and processing scrap metal. Loading and unloading materials. Maintaining the yard and assisting with operation of equipment.

The successful candiate will be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditons, working on and around heavy equipment and perfomaing physically demanding tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities;

- Sort and seperate various types of scrap metal materials
- Load and unload scrap metal from trucks and trailers
- Assist with processing, cutting and preparing material

*Assist with the yard daily activities

- Perform general maintenace and housekeeping duties
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Qualifications and Skills;

- Previous experience is a scrap metal yard, construction,



farming or manufacturing similiar enviroment is an asset
- Experience operating heavy equipment or machinery is an asset

*Comfortable working outdoors in all weather elements

- Able to work independetly or work as a team
- Dependable and punctual and willing to learn
- Valid Drivers Lic is an asset
- Solid commitment to workpalce safety

Working Conditions;

- Outdoor work in varying weather conditons
- Physically demanding
- Work around trucks, excvators, loaders and other heavy machinery

Hours;

Monday to Friday 7-4pm - Fulltime

Wage;

$20 - $26 / Hour depending on experience and qualifications

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, safety minded and willing to get hands dirty. A strong work ethic and willingness to learn are more important than havinf previous scrap - yard experience.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
