Fladgate Exploration is looking for Geological Technicians to join our team. The successful candidates will support the project geologists in the field and in core logging facilities. Work will be based out of Thunder Bay, ON, the schedule will be variable, but the goal is two weeks on, two weeks off

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Assist project geologists in fieldwork including sample collection, mapping, and drilling activities
- Prepare and process drill core, rock, and soil samples for analysis
- Operate and maintain geological equipment and instruments
- Record and manage geological data with accuracy
- Maintain detailed field and lab notes
- Geotechnical logging and cutting diamond drill core
- Adhere to company wide and site specific safety protocols

We are looking for someone who has/is:

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Positive attention to detail and organizational skills time
- Physical ability to conduct fieldwork in various weather positions
- Experience in a labour position is an asset
- Previous experience in geological field work or lab work is an asset
- Comfortable being in a bush and remote camp environment




- Comfortable working on computers and learning new software
- A valid Canadian drivers license
- A clean drivers abstract
- Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English

Physical Demands Requirements (Must be able to):

- Be able to walk 5km in rough terrain comfortably
- Use of step stools and stairs
- Use force when push/pulling heavy carts safely
- Be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Be able to carry up to 40lbs in a back pack for long distances

Beneficial Experience and Skills:

- Boating license
- Experience with ATV’s, generators, outdoor work equipment
- Geology courses
- Work experience in remote camps and/or bush environments
- Has in interest in earth sciences
