Grader Operator/Heavy Equipment Operator Eagle River Mine, Near Wawa, ON (Mine Site) Company Information Wesdome is a Canadian-focused gold producer with two high-grade underground assets, the Eagle River mine in Ontario and the Kiena mine in Québec. The Company’s primary goal is to responsibly leverage its operating platform and high-quality brownfield and greenfield exploration pipeline to build a growing value-driven gold producer.

Mine site has a tight-knit team where everyone knows each other and there is a strong sense of camaraderie and mutual support. It is a hands-on, fast paced environment where work feels impactful and you can see the results of your contributions quickly. There are many long-tenured employees and a lot of site pride.

The mine is located a short drive from Wawa, deep in the forest where it is scenic and quiet. It is a real ‘boots on the ground’ setting. Team members reside in a camp environment and typically work on rotations, depending on the position.

The camp offers excellent food, a sauna/gym, recreational room and the opportunity to stay connected with family and friends.

About the Opportunity The successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks including grading, ditching, excavation, material loading and stockpiling, snow removal, and road maintenance. The role will also operate and monitor a screening plant used to produce winter sand, ensuring materials are processed safely and efficiently. This is a versatile, hands-on position that requires strong equipment operating skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with supervision and other site personnel to complete daily operational priorities while maintaining equipment and work areas to a high standard. You have experience operating graders, excavators, and wheel loaders and are comfortable adapting to a variety of tasks and changing site conditions. You understand the importance of completing thorough pre-operational inspections, identifying equipment concerns, and maintaining your equipment in good working condition.



You are safety-minded, aware of your surroundings, and understand the importance of maintaining clear communication when working around other people and mobile equipment.

Position

Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Job Duties Operate heavy equipment including grader, excavator, and CAT 980 loader or equivalent.

Perform road maintenance, grading, ditching, material loading, snow removal, and excavation work as required.

Operate and monitor a screening plant to produce winter sand, ensuring material is processed safely and efficiently.

Complete daily pre-operational inspections and report equipment defects or maintenance concerns.

Operate equipment in a safe, effective, and productive manner while following company procedures and regulatory requirements.

Load, move, spread, level, and stockpile materials such as gravel, rock, sand, snow and other site materials.

Maintain clear communication with supervisors, co-workers, and other site personnel.

Assist with general labour, site cleanup, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience 3-5 years of experience operating a grader, excavator, and CAT 980 loader or equivalent wheel loader.

Experience operating a screening plant to produce winter sand, or willingness to train.

Valid driver's license in good standing.

Strong understanding of safe equipment operation, daily inspections, and basic equipment care.

Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks when required.

Ability to follow direction, communicate clearly, and work safely around other people and equipment.

Reliable attendance and willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, or emergency call-ins when required.
