Become a Forensic Nurse focused on providing extensive trauma-informed care and forensic evaluations for sexual assault and domestic violence victims. This role demands compassion and specialized medical skills.
As a Forensic Nurse, you will cater to the needs of pediatric and adult victims by delivering medical and forensic evaluations and referrals. Your duties include responding to client needs, conducting thorough examinations, and ensuring the proper collection and documentation of forensic evidence. You'll also engage in safety planning and collaborate with health practitioners for holistic client care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Respond to client calls and determine medical needs
• Conduct detailed histories related to health and assault
• Perform comprehensive medical-forensic examinations
• Collect forensic evidence and maintain precise documentation
• Engage in health teaching and community outreach efforts
Requirements:
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Solid experience in forensic, mental health, or crisis nursing
• CPR certification necessary
• Valid driver's license and access to transportation
• Three years of relevant nursing experience preferred
