The Facilities Manager oversees the maintenance, renovation, and continuous improvement of a portfolio of commercial properties. This hands‑on, field‑based role requires strong construction knowledge, practical problem‑solving skills, and the ability to manage building operations, repairs, and renovation projects. The Facilities Manager works closely with maintenance staff, contractors, and internal teams to ensure properties are well maintained, operational needs are met, and improvement projects are completed efficiently and effectively. Major Responsibilities
Building Operations & Maintenance
Oversee the maintenance and repair of commercial properties. Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs, building deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Assess building issues, determine appropriate solutions, and respond promptly to operational and maintenance needs. Ensure preventive maintenance programs are followed to protect the long‑term condition and value of the properties. Maintain building compliance documentation, including fire safety plans and emergency response procedures. Provide expertise and guidance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and general construction. Renovations & Construction Projects
Manage renovation and construction projects from planning through completion. Plan and oversee building upgrades, renovations, and property improvement projects. Coordinate maintenance staff, contractors, and trades to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope. Evaluate building spaces and recommend renovations, layouts, and tenant improvements.
Prepare basic sketches and layout concepts to support renovation planning and leasing opportunities. Team & Contractor Management
Lead and support maintenance staff by setting priorities and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. Monitor contractor performance to ensure work is completed on time, safely, and according to expectations. Review contractor invoices and verify work is completed satisfactorily before approving payment. Leasing & Property Support
Support property tours by assessing building conditions and providing recommendations for maintenance, renovations, and tenant improvements. Coordinate tenant improvement projects and prepare spaces for current occupants. Skills and Knowledge
Extensive experience in commercial building maintenance, renovations, construction, or facilities operations. Strong understanding of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and general construction. Hands‑on experience overseeing renovations, contractors, maintenance activities, and building improvement projects. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to assess issues, determine practical solutions, and exercise sound judgment. Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building practices. Ability to interpret drawings, assess layouts, and provide practical recommendations. Practical experience, technical knowledge, and hands‑on building experience are highly valued. Compensation
Annual base salary is $100,000 - $120,000 Annual Discretionary Bonus Monthly Car Allowance: around $300 - $500 per month
