The Song Spot is Durham Region's fastest growing performing arts school! We teach private and group lessons in piano, voice, guitar, ukulele, drums and violin, in addition to running a successful youth musical theatre company. Our skilled teachers are dedicated to fostering a love for the performing arts in our students of all ages!

We are currently looking for qualified instructor to teach private guitar and ukulele lessons!

Requirements

- Reliable, patient, open-minded and enjoy working with students of all ages;
- Able to work independently with limited to no supervision;
- Able to teach technique and repertoire in a fun, engaging manner;
- Robust proficiency in guitar and music fundamentals;
- Prior teaching experience either privately or in a school setting;
- RCM certifications are an asset, but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

- Encourage the joy of making music;
- Arrive to the first lesson on time, or a few minutes early;




- Develop engaging lesson plans;
- Help students develop the discipline and commitment required for success;
- Make learning just as fun as making music itself;
- Building a strong relationship with the students to better help them succeed; and
- Give brief feedback to parents at the end of every lesson.
