– Health & Safety Coordinator

We are seeking an energetic and driven Health & Safety Coordinator to join our growing team. Reporting to the Material & Safety Manager, this full-time salaried role is based in our Calgary office. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain corporate Safety Compliance Sites (ISN, Comply Works, Avetta)
· Compile and monitor safety statistics
· Review and maintain Corporate Safety Manual
· Review and update Secure Work Procedure & Hazard Assessments
· Chair and maintain Health & Safety Committee Meetings
· Prepare and issue monthly safety meeting topics to all staff
· Carry out Incident Investigations and issue documentation for management review
· Coordinate and carry out the annual COR Audit
· Monitor and assess WCB claims correspondence
· Complete new hire and sub-contractor orientations, including sign-on documentation
· Maintain records and schedule employee training
· Maintain safety documentation in an organized manner
· Carry out routine shop walks and inspections
· Ensure monthly shop/office inspections are completed, and finalize and distribute documentation
· Any additional duties as required
Required Skills and Experience
- Ability to work without supervision
- Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of dedicated safety experience working directly inside a welding, heavy fabrication, manufacturing, or heavy industrial shop floor environment (Required).
- Designation: Active National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation or an Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Certificate/Diploma is highly preferred.
- Legislation: Deep working knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act, Regulation, and Code.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal communication skills with the ability to gain buy-in and respect from a large, fast-paced workforce of tradespeople.
- Strong computer Skills
