Sprucedale Youth

Centre is seeking an experienced Health Care Coordinator to lead the delivery of comprehensive health care services within a secure youth justice setting. In this rewarding role, you will oversee nursing, medical, pharmacy, and specialized health services while guiding a multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting the health, safety, and well-being of young people. - Lead Health Care Programs and Services – Coordinate, oversee, and evaluate the delivery of nursing, medical, pharmacy, and related health care services to ensure high-quality care for youth within a secure facility.
- Provide Clinical Leadership and Expertise – Serve as the facility's health care subject matter expert by providing professional guidance, advice, and support to staff, managers, and community health care partners.
- Supervise and Develop Staff – Lead and support a multidisciplinary health care team by assigning work, coaching employees, identifying learning opportunities, and fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.




- Drive Program Planning and Improvement – Monitor emerging health care trends, assess service needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement initiatives that enhance program effectiveness and client outcomes.
- Manage Resources and Operations – Oversee operational budgets, medical supplies, equipment, pharmacy processes, and vendor relationships to ensure efficient and compliant health care service delivery.
- Build Partnerships and Support Youth Well-Being – Collaborate with community agencies, hospitals, specialists, families, and internal stakeholders to coordinate care, facilitate referrals, and promote positive health outcomes for youth.

What you bring to the team

Mandatory requirements

- You are currently registered as a Registered Nurse in good standing with the Colleges of Nurses of Ontario.

Leadership and People Management

- Experience leading and supporting multidisciplinary health care teams in a complex service delivery environment.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop staff while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Skilled in performance management, employee engagement, recruitment, and workforce planning.
- Ability to set priorities, coordinate daily operations, and ensure high standards of service delivery.

Clinical and Health Care Expertise

- Current registration in good standing as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Strong knowledge of nursing practices, professional standards, and ethical guidelines.
- Experience overseeing health care programs, clinical services, and quality-of-care initiatives.
- Ability to assess health care needs, manage risks, and support sound clinical decision-making.

Program Management and Operational Excellence

- Experience planning, implementing, and evaluating health care programs and services.
- Ability to identify trends, monitor performance, and recommend improvements to service delivery.
- Knowledge of operational planning, resource allocation, and quality improvement methodologies.
- Experience managing budgets, medical supplies, equipment, and program resources effectively.

Communication and Stakeholder Relations

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Experience providing expert advice and guidance to leaders, staff, and external partners.
- Ability to collaborate with community agencies, hospitals, specialists, and other health care providers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, recommendations, and briefing materials.
