The Opportunity:

We are looking for a dedicated and eager Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working on concrete mixer trucks, concrete boom pumps, and tractor trailers. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of heavy-duty equipment to ensure they remain in optimal working condition. This is a hands-on position that requires both mechanical expertise and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborating with a team, prioritizing daily tasks to ensure efficient operation within the facility; fosters a culture of dedicated Safety and teamwork.

Perform maintenance and repair work on concrete mixer trucks, concrete boom pumps, and tractor trailers, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and suspension.

Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment to diagnose issues and identify potential problems before they become major repairs.

Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and reliability of the fleet, including oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and fluid checks.

Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on heavy-duty equipment.

Complete repairs and installations of hydraulic pumps, valves, and hoses, as well as ensure proper function and safety compliance for concrete boom pumps and mixers.

Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to assist in repairs and maintenance.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, including parts used and time spent on each job.





Ensure all equipment meets safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Follow all safety protocols and company procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Work with the service team to manage spare parts inventory and order parts when needed.

Mentor and train, providing guidance on troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance procedures.

Participate in after-hours emergency repair calls as required.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are safely stored.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic with specific experience on concrete mixer trucks, concrete boom pumps, and tractor trailers.

Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairs.

Ability to use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot issues.

Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency repair requests.

High school diploma or equivalent.

License/Certification:

Red Seal Heavy Duty Journeyman Mechanic (required)

Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift heavy components and work in various positions performing manual labour, including kneeling, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Ability to work in a variety of environments, including outdoors and in confined spaces.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
