Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our construction team. This role involves operating various types of heavy machinery on construction sites to facilitate efficient project completion. The ideal candidate will have experience with construction equipment, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work safely in a dynamic environment.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in construction and heavy equipment operation to contribute to large-scale projects.

Duties

- Operate a range of heavy machinery including tractors, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and front loader trucks
- Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, and material transportation
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure safety and functionality
- Follow safety protocols and maintain compliance with OSHA standards
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure project timelines are met
- Machine operation would involve loading and unloading aggregates to local customers, digging, lot clearing etc.
- Operation of heavy equipment (tractor, backhoe, excavator, etc...)




- Flexibility to work extended hours

Requirements

- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as tractors, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and related machinery
- Construction site experience preferred
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on equipment
- Valid license
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy loads safely
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation
- Relevant certifications or training in heavy equipment operation is advantageous
- Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) certification or equivalent or similar would be an asset
- 5+ years of experience operating machinery and maintenance is preferred
- Be dependable
- Have attention to detail
- Ability to work unsupervised
- A good team player
- Good communication skills
- Fluent in English
- Access to reliable transportation
- Clean driving record
- Experience with project management and supervising others would be considered an asset.
