Guardium Logistics Ltd. is looking for an experienced and dependable Heavy Haul Truck Operator to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting heavy, oversized, and specialized freight throughout Canada using flat deck and specialized trailers.

We operate a combination of dedicated and on-demand lanes, providing our drivers with a variety of freight and routes based on their experience, qualifications, and availability.

We are looking for a professional, safety-focused, mechanically minded, and motivated driver who takes pride in their equipment, understands proper load securement, and can confidently manage the challenges associated with heavy haul transportation.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate Class 1 commercial vehicles with flat deck and specialized trailers
- Transport heavy, oversized, overweight, and specialized freight across Canada
- Properly inspect, secure, and transport loads in accordance with applicable regulations
- Perform proper chaining, strapping, blocking, bracing, and tarping as required
- Ensure proper weight distribution and load securement before and during transportation
- Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
- Identify and report mechanical issues, equipment defects, or safety concerns
- Follow all applicable federal, provincial, and customer-specific safety requirements
- Safely navigate varying road, weather, traffic, and loading conditions
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers, shippers, receivers, and other personnel
- Maintain accurate trip, inspection, delivery, and load documentation
- Ensure cargo is delivered safely, securely, and on schedule
- Maintain a clean and professional truck and trailer
- Work independently while maintaining regular communication with dispatch
- Respond appropriately to unexpected situations, delays, equipment issues, and changes in load or route requirements

Must-Have Qualifications





- Minimum 2 years of commercial Class 1 driving experience
- Previous experience with flat deck, step deck, double drop, RGN, or specialized trailers is strongly preferred
- Experience hauling heavy, oversized, or specialized freight is an asset
- Clean commercial driving record with no serious or major violations
- Valid Class 1 driver's licence
- Strong understanding of load securement and cargo safety
- Knowledge of weight distribution and applicable dimensional/weight requirements
- Ability to safely handle oversized and overweight loads
- Physically fit and capable of chaining, strapping, tarping, securing, loading, and unloading freight as required
- Ability to perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to identify basic equipment issues
- Reliable, responsible, and safety-conscious
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Professional communication skills and a positive attitude
- Willingness to travel throughout Canada
- Flexible availability based on customer and freight requirements
