The Hedge Barber is accepting applications for entry-level hedge trimmers (starting wage of up to $30/hour, depending on prior experience). We’re a growing company of likeminded individuals who share a passion for working outdoors, and we take pride in the quality with which we meet the hedge maintenance needs of our community. Founded by locals, we have been servicing Ottawa since 2017.

Job Type

- Hedge Trimmer
- Full-time (Monday to Friday, 7 AM – 4 PM)
- Seasonal (April – November)

Description
- Successful candidates will accompany an experienced crew leader as they trim hedges and shrubs in and around the Ottawa area. While in training, duties will largely include clean-up and supporting the trimming crew with general labour. Training to trim the sides of a hedge will start right away, and it is expected that trainees will start handling the tops within a month. The work is extremely physically demanding, and once some proficiency is shown raises will come quickly!

Qualifications/Requirements
- Applicants must be physically fit and capable of working outside for up to 9 hours a day.
- Applicants must be comfortable working at or show a willingness to learn how to operate using a ladder at heights of up to 16 feet. Training will be provided.
- Applicants must have a up to date working at heights certification, training can be provided.




- Applicants must have a valid G driver’s license.
- Applicants must have reliable means of transport to our yard on work days and arrive by 8 AM at the latest (Industrial Park Area).
- Applicants must have a willingness to learn how to safely and effectively operate a variety of power tools as required for the position. Training will be provided.
- Experience in landscape maintenance and similar fields is suggested but not required.
