Key Responsibilities

- Greet guests promptly and courteously upon arrival and departure.
- Check guests in and out using the hotel’s property management system/PMS (Mews).
- Manage room reservations, cancellations, and special requests accurately.
- Handle payments, deposits, and invoices in line with cash-handling procedures.
- Provide information about hotel amenities, local attractions, and services.
- Respond to guest concerns or complaints professionally and ensure resolution or escalation as required.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure rooms are ready and issues are addressed.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports during each shift.
- Uphold cleanliness and organization of the front desk and lobby area.
- Follow all company policies, safety standards, and privacy regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in hospitality or business is an asset.
- Previous experience in customer service or front desk operations preferred.
- Solid communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in hotel or booking software (e.g., Opera, Maestro, Cloudbeds,



or similar).
- Professional appearance and courteous demeanor.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Flexible to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

About the Property Located in beautiful Tahltan Territory, the 43-room Northway Motor Inn is a long-standing hospitality property in Dease Lake, British Columbia, serving the local community, travellers, professionals, and visitors journeying through the Stewart-Cassiar Highway corridor and the broader Stikine region. Situated in the heart of Dease Lake, the hotel offers guests a practical and comfortable base for travel in Northern British Columbia, with access to the Cassiar Mountains, Telegraph Creek, and the Stikine River country.

The hotel is owned and overseen through the Tahltan Hospitality Limited Partnership, reflecting a governance model grounded in accountability, community benefit, and Indigenous business leadership. As the property moves through a period of rebranding and renewal, Northway Motor Inn is focused on strengthening operations, enhancing service standards, and positioning the hotel for long-term success as part of a growing Tahltan-owned hospitality business.
