We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeping/Kennel Assistant to support the daily operations of our animal care facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, and the physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks. This role is vital in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both animals and visitors.
The successful applicant will work closely with staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and animal comfort are consistently upheld.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of kennels, animal housing areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Assist with feeding, watering, and caring for animals in accordance with established protocols.
- Handle heavy lifting tasks such as moving supplies, bedding, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and animal care materials, notifying management when stock needs replenishing.
- Follow safety procedures at all times to prevent accidents or injuries during cleaning or handling tasks.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in housekeeping, or kennel assistance is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Physical strength and stamina to perform heavy lifting and extended periods of standing or bending.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a rapid-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures related to cleaning chemicals and animal handling is advantageous.
