Role Description The Human Resources Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at InterContinental Toronto Centre in Toronto, ON. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations for hotel team members.
The Human Resources
Manager develops and implements HR policies and procedures, supports compliance with employment legislation, and partners with leaders to foster an inclusive, safe, and high-performing workplace culture. Daily tasks include resolving employee inquiries, managing benefits and leaves, coordinating training and development initiatives, and supporting workforce planning for multiple departments. The role also involves maintaining accurate HR records, reporting HR metrics, and collaborating with leadership on engagement, recognition,
and retention strategies that align with hotel and brand standards.
Work schedule will be Tuesday to Saturday 830-500.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in employee/union relations, conflict resolution, and performance management, with the ability to build trust and support team members at all levels.
- Experience in recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning within hospitality or a similar service-focused environment.
- Knowledge of HR policies, employment standards, and compliance requirements in Ontario, including health and safety and workplace equity.
- Proficiency in ADP systems, applicant tracking tools, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience designing or coordinating training, development, and engagement initiatives for hotel or service teams.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; CHRP/CHRL designation or working toward it is an asset.
- Minimum mandatory 3 years HR generalist or HR management experience, ideally in hospitality, tourism, or customer-focused industries.
