The Assistant

Manager plays a key role in maintaining this positive and productive work environment where teamwork and mutual respect are the norm. Reporting to the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the Ice Cream Department and support the store operations during the Store Managers absence. This involves leading by example in the delivery of excellent customer service, ensuring that everyone is contributing equally to the completion of daily tasks, and conveying a sense of pride in the high-quality products COWS is known for.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):

- Demonstrating COW WOW Service, defined as "above and beyond care and attention - better than customers would receive anywhere in the world!"
- Developing a customer-centric culture within the store.
- Overseeing the daily duties of staff members (scoopers, retail associates, and supervisors), and ensuring thorough completion of tasks.
- Responding to customer or staff concerns with positivity and a desire to solve problems.
- Assisting in training of sales and supervisory staff.
- Opening and closing the store.
- Preparing bank deposits.
- Completing daily, weekly and monthly paperwork.
- Receiving inventory, restocking ice cream dippers, paper supplies and syrup toppings.
- Preparation of all menu items,



including cone batter, waffle cones and dishes
- Processing transactions and handling cash.
- Maintaining the high standard for cleanliness in the store and food service area.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager to secure the overall operation and success of the store

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be someone who is energized by customer interactions, has a competitive spirit, and is a team player. The candidate must be an excellent communicator and be able to foster good working relationships with staff and clients. In addition, the candidate should:

- Have a minimum of 2 years food service or retail experience.
- Have strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Have a sense of humour.
- Previous managerial experience would be an asset.
- Ability to think quick under pressure with solid problem solving skills.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Word and Excel

Physical Requirements:

- Bending, lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Standing for long periods.
- Repetitive motion (scooping ice cream)
