Duties
- Review and proofread legal documents, applications, and correspondence to ensure accuracy and compliance with immigration regulations
- Conduct thorough research using LexisNexis and other legal databases to gather relevant case information and precedents
- Manage case files efficiently using iManage or similar document management systems, ensuring all records are complete, organized, and up-to-date
- Interview clients to collect detailed information about their cases, ensuring all necessary documentation is obtained for submission
- Draft legal documents, affidavits, and reports with precision, adhering to established legal standards and formats
- Perform data entry tasks accurately to maintain comprehensive case records and tracking logs
- Provide administrative support including filing, answering phone inquiries with professional etiquette, and managing appointment schedules
Qualifications
- Proven clerical experience with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce transparent, concise legal drafting and correspondence
- Experience with proofreading documents for accuracy and consistency
- Familiarity with LexisNexis or similar legal research tools is highly desirable
- Strong interviewing skills to gather detailed client information effectively
- Proficiency in iManage or comparable document management software preferred
- Demonstrated project management abilities to handle multiple cases efficiently while meeting deadlines
- Exceptional phone etiquette combined with professional communication skills
- Basic knowledge of immigration law processes or related legal fields is a plus but not required
