Independent Sales Representative, SaaS for Trades

People Purpose Corporation / Quadrant | Remote, anywhere in North America | Contract, commission-based, part of a team

Right person, right seat. Everybody wins.

WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS

I built Quadrant because I got tired of watching valuable owners hire on a gut feel and then live with it for three years. The product is small and honest: one plan, one document, nothing to upsell.

Now I'm building the team to carry it to owners, and I'm doing it hands-on. I'm not hiring people and disappearing. I'm in the training with you, on early calls with you, and available when a deal needs a second voice. I want a small group of people who already talk to owner-operators every week, who can hand one a free ten-minute assessment and then sit through the part where he tells them what it got wrong, and who want to build something together, not just work a territory alone.

The market is not the problem: 94% of construction firms have open positions and 94% of those cannot fill them (AGC of America / Arcoro 2024 Workforce Survey). Reach is the problem. That is what this team is for.

Rod Penner, Founder, People Purpose Corporation THE ROLE

This seat puts Quadrant in front of owner-operators who need it and cannot find it on their own, mostly trades, construction and manufacturing shops between 20 and 500 people. You're an independent contractor, so you run your own calendar and your own calls, but you're not doing it in isolation. You're part of a small sales team that trains together, compares notes, and has a founder who is actually in it with you.

The whole sale is this: get an owner to spend ten minutes on the free assessment, then move the conversation to his job descriptions. Everything else is follow-up, and you'll have people around you while you do it.

HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

- Weekly team calls. Wins, stuck deals, and what's working, shared across the group instead of figured out alone.
- Direct access to Rod. Training, live call coaching when you want it, and a second voice on a big deal.
- A shared training foundation. Everyone goes through the same eight modules, so the team speaks the same language from day one.
- Peer support. Other reps who talk to the same kind of owner every day and know exactly what you're describing when a deal stalls.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

- Your own pipeline and your own calendar. Who to call, what to say, when to follow up.
- The first call and the demo, run off your own live Quadrant workspace, a real screen, not a slide.
- The honest read: walking an owner through his own assessment result and taking the wrong parts seriously.
- The close, through your own referral link, so every deal you bring in is credited to you.

WHAT A WEEK LOOKS LIKE
- Calls and messages to owner-operators. Ex-recruiters, insurance and payments reps, business bankers, and bookkeepers with a client list all do well here, because the list already exists.
- Sending assessment links: "About ten minutes. It's free either way."
- Live demos off your own workspace.
- Follow-up. The owner is on a job site and won't call back the first time. You call again, and the team knows that's normal.
- A team call to compare notes and get unstuck.
- Eight-module training at the start: the product, the DISC engine, hiring and managing, reviews, the demo, pricing and objections, and getting paid.

COMPENSATION, STATED PLAINLY

This is a commission-based, independent contract seat, and it's built to reward the people who stay and build a real book.

- Year one, every account: 30% of collected monthly revenue. Paid monthly on collections. No cap, no quota gate.
- Month 13 onward: 10% lifetime residual, for as long as the account stays and you stay active. Your book compounds, and it keeps paying you for work you already did.
- Clawback: 60 days. If an account refunds or cancels inside its first 60 days, that commission is reversed.
- Territory: non-exclusive, anywhere in North America.

What you're selling: one plan, $30/month plus $7/month per person on the client's roster, CAD. 14-day free trial, applicants always free.

What that looks like on one account: a 50-person client pays about $4,560 a year. Your year one at 30% is $1,368. Your residual from year two on, at 10%, is $456 a year,

for as long as the client stays. This is arithmetic on the published list price, not a forecast of what you will sell, and it's the kind of number that adds up fast once you have a handful of accounts on the books.

We provide, free: your own live Quadrant workspace for demos, the full eight-module training program, your referral link and monthly statements, and the assessment itself as your door-opener. You are never charged for training, materials, leads, or your workspace, not at signup, not ever.

Status: independent contractor, not an employee. In Canada that means self-employed, responsible for your own taxes and GST/HST registration if you cross the threshold; in the US it is a 1099-NEC. Talk to your own accountant, we cannot advise you on this.

WHAT YOU NEED

- A phone you can make calls from, a computer, and reliable internet.
- The legal right to work as a contractor where you live.
- Comfortable getting told no, out loud, and calling back anyway.
- Someone who wants to build a book and build it as part of a team, not just check a box.

THE HONEST HALF

Every profile in Quadrant has an honest half. So does this role.
- The first quarter is the building phase. You're starting your book from zero, and commission-only means that phase is unpaid. If you need income inside 60 days, this is the wrong seat, and we'd rather tell you that now than have you find out the hard way.
- The buyer is a busy owner. He's on a job site, his phone is in the truck, and hiring is the fourth thing on his list until the day it's the first. You'll follow up more than once, and that's normal here, not a sign you're doing it wrong.
- The product is honest, so you can't oversell it. One plan, no upsell, nothing promised that hasn't shipped. The assessment informs a decision, it never makes one, so you can't sell "screen them out automatically."
- It's many small deals that build into something real over time, not one big check. The people who do best here are building for the residual, with the team behind them, not chasing a single quick win.

People are the point. Profit is the byproduct.

Apply here, and we'll follow up with a few short questions about your background and availability before a first conversation, with Rod.
