York Metal Products Inc. is seeking an experienced and hands-on Industrial Maintenance Mechanic / Millwright to join our Maintenance Team. This position is responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement of production machinery, equipment, tooling, and supporting plant systems.

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic plays a key role in maintaining equipment reliability, minimizing unplanned downtime, and supporting safe and efficient production operations. Working closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and Production, the successful candidate will perform scheduled preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment failures, complete mechanical repairs and rebuilds, and support equipment installations and improvement projects.

The ideal candidate has a strong industrial maintenance background with practical Millwright experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and a solid understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production machinery, equipment, tooling, and supporting plant systems.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, adjust, and replace mechanical components and equipment as required.
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance activities in accordance with established maintenance programs and equipment requirements.
- Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, diagnose failures, and perform root cause analysis to identify and correct recurring issues.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner and work collaboratively with Maintenance and Production personnel to safely restore equipment to operation.
- Identify and recommend equipment adjustments, repairs, and improvements to increase reliability, uptime, production efficiency, and equipment performance.
- Install, align, commission, modify, relocate, and repair industrial machinery and equipment.
- Perform mechanical fitting, assembly, alignment, adjustment, and precision measurement activities associated with machinery and tooling.
- Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
- Support maintenance and troubleshooting of automated production equipment, CNC machinery, robotics, PLC-controlled equipment, and press shop equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T;, equipment manuals, electrical schematics, and other technical documentation.
- Use precision measuring equipment, including calipers, verniers, height gauges, and other appropriate measurement tools.
- Accurately document inspections, preventive maintenance activities, repairs, equipment conditions, and corrective actions.




- Track maintenance activities and support departmental KPI reporting related to equipment reliability, downtime, preventive maintenance, and repair activities.
- Participate in equipment installation, modification, restoration, continuous improvement, and capital projects.
- Operate lifting and material-handling equipment, including overhead cranes, scissor lifts, and other approved lifting devices, as required.
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers and ensure work performed on-site complies with company health and safety requirements.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, organized, and serviceable condition.
- Follow all company Health & Safety policies, procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, quality standards, and applicable work instructions.
- Identify potential equipment, safety, and operational risks and communicate concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Perform additional maintenance duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by the Engineering/Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 5 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Robust hands-on Millwright experience with industrial machinery and production equipment.
- Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) licence is strongly preferred or demonstrated equivalent industrial maintenance experience.
- Post-secondary education or technical training in Industrial Maintenance, Millwright, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline is an asset.
- Electrical troubleshooting experience or an electrical background is considered an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment.
- Familiarity with CNC equipment, robotics, PLC-controlled machinery, and press shop operations is considered a strong asset.
- Demonstrated experience performing equipment troubleshooting, failure analysis, and root cause analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T;, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments, including calipers, verniers, and height gauges.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to equipment reliability and risk mitigation.




- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary Maintenance and Production team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize work effectively and respond appropriately to changing production and maintenance requirements.

Health, Safety & Physical Requirements

- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Ability to comply with all PPE, machine safety, lockout/tagout, and company Health & Safety requirements.
- Ability to work safely around industrial machinery, automated equipment, tooling, and material-handling equipment.
- Ability to stand and work on the production floor for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and handle materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to use ladders, elevated work platforms, overhead cranes, and other approved equipment when properly trained and authorized.

Working Conditions This is a hands-on position operating primarily within a fast-paced manufacturing and shop-floor environment. The successful candidate must be comfortable working around production machinery and responding to equipment breakdowns and changing operational priorities.

Flexibility to work additional hours, evenings, weekends, or respond to emergency equipment shutdowns may be required based on operational and production needs.
