About the College The Canadian College of Health Information Management is a national, not-for-profit corporation that sets the accreditation standards for educational institutions and certification standards for health information professionals in Canada.

The College, incorporated in 1972, protects the public interest by governing and regulating the professional practice of more than 4,600 certified health information member registrants. In enhancing its status as a regulatory body, the College advances the professionalization of the health information industry and acknowledgement of its professionals as a key driver of policy, funding, and the care that Canadians receive.

About CHIMA

CHIMA is the national professional association for the health information profession in Canada, representing over 5,800 health information members from coast to coast to coast. It advocates for and monitors trends within the profession, creates networking opportunities, and facilitates continuing education for its members. CHIMA also connects members with employment opportunities at organizations within health care and beyond.

POSITION TITLE: IT Manager

REPORTS TO: CEO & Registrar

DIRECT REPORTS: Web Developer

SUMMARY:

This role provides oversight over CHIMA’s technology infrastructure and cybersecurity to ensure optimal functioning of its various platforms for positive member experience,



streamlined operations and business continuity. The IT Manager will oversee and coordinate the activities of the web developer and external IT / technology vendors to ensure stability of the websites and e-commerce platforms and to facilitate seamless integration with CHIMA’s operational systems. In collaboration with, and through the support of the CEO & Registrar, Sr Director, Partnerships and External Relations and the Director, College, the IT Manager will support the development and oversee the implementation of CHIMA’s technology strategy and manage CHIMA’s technology and cyber risks.

Provide support to team members to ensure technology enables their operational needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure stability of CHIMA’s technology platforms

- Assess operational needs and identify process / technology improvements to improve system performance and promote positive user experience for CHIMA team, members and broader community
- Optimize integrations between website, ecommerce, accounting and other backend systems
- Coordinate the work of the web developer to ensure platforms have the necessary functionality
- Identify and evaluate possible technology solutions for recommendation to management and oversee implementation
- Oversee projects across all stages, including planning, development, testing, implementation, and evaluation for larger scale technology projects, including but not limited to website redesigns or digital transformations as appropriate to support organizational needs

Oversee Cybersecurity Maturity to Support Business Continuity

- Coordinate with external managed services to address day-to-day issues




- Develop and test business continuity plan related to technology
- Oversee cyber risk assessment to evaluate system vulnerabilities and make recommendations to management for approach to mitigate on a risk-based approach
- Undertake initiatives to address priority vulnerabilities

Manage Team Technology Needs & General Duties

- Maintain inventory of hardware and licensed software for the team
- Source out new equipment and apps to support operations
- Provide technical support as required
- Forecast technology needs for annual operational budget
- Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills and Experience

- 7 years experience overseeing IT systems and cybersecurity, preferably in a not-for-profit workplace
- Experience facilitating integrations between ecommerce platforms (e.g., WooCommerce), websites / CRMs and accounting software (Quickbooks Online)
- Experience supervising staff and managing external consultants
- Project management experience with technology projects
- Possess understanding of Canadian accessibility legislation as it relates to public-facing platforms
- Process improvement / project management designations are assets
- High level of proficiency with:
- MS O365 (including SharePoint),
- Zoom and other teleconference technologies
- Wordpress and other website platforms

WORKING CONDITIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

- Work is within a fully virtual environment
- Open to working flexible hours as operational needs arise
- Occasional travel within Canada
