Role Description The Information Technology Support Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Calgary, AB. This position is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support to internal users, including diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues for desktop computers and related devices.
The specialist will handle help desk tickets, respond to support requests, and ensure timely troubleshooting of IT problems to ensure employee productivity. The role also involves maintaining documentation of issues and solutions,
assisting with system updates and deployments, and collaborating within the team to improve support processes and employee experience.
Qualifications
- Strong problem solving skills, with experience assisting people to ensure they're satisfied.
- Familiarity in troubleshooting computers, including operating systems, hardware components, and common business applications.
- Solid understanding of technology fundamentals, such as basic networking, security best practices, and system configuration.
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in transparent, accessible language.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple support requests, and work collaboratively within an IT team.
- Experience with ticketing systems and documentation of support activities is preferred.
- Relevant post-secondary education in IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
