The Opportunity
As an Infrastructure Specialist, you are a hybrid infrastructure technical leader with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, while also maintaining strong ownership of core on-premises infrastructure.
This role is focused on:
- designing, operating, and securing enterprise hybrid infrastructure, where cloud services play a strategic role and on-prem platforms remain critical to business and operational reliability.
- Having a specialist-level responsibility for Azure cloud computing, Microsoft Intune, and Exchange Online, while also providing senior technical leadership across server, storage, virtualization, and identity services.
- You being the escalation point for complex infrastructure issues and a hands-on technical lead for analysts, vendors, and project teams,
operating in a regulated, availability-focused environment.
- Leading the design, implementation, and operation of hybrid infrastructure with a strategic emphasis on Azure, act as Level 3 escalation for complex cloud and on-prem issues, and design hybrid architectures that integrate Azure services with on-prem servers, storage, and virtualization platforms.
In this role, you will:
- serve as a specialist-level expert across Microsoft Azure platform services, Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online and Intune, and related identity and security services.
- Configure, manage, and optimize Azure IaaS and PaaS services alongside core on-prem platforms such as VMware and Windows Server.
- Support backup and resiliency strategies.
- Enforce cybersecurity and governance standards.
- Lead large and complex infrastructure initiatives.
- Work closely with vendors and partners.
- Continuously monitor performance and capacity to drive improvement.
Requirements
Your qualifications include: Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of IT infrastructure experience.
- Significant hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure at a specialist level is considered an asset.
- Strong background in enterprise on-prem infrastructure, including servers, storage, and virtualization.
- Experience with AWS is considered an asset, but not required.
- Deep experience with
- Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and Intune
- Hybrid identity and access management is considered an asset
- Azure networking, security, and governance are considered an asset
- Infrastructure automation and modernization are considered an asset
- Solid foundation in enterprise infrastructure, virtual and physical.
- Experience with VMware vSphere or Hyper-V, Windows Server, SAN or enterprise storage platforms, and Active Directory.
- Experience with backup platforms, replication or failover, disaster recovery planning, and recovery testing is considered an asset.
- Experience acting as an escalation point for analysts and senior internal stakeholders is considered an asset.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
Certifications (Assets)
- Microsoft Azure certifications such as Administrator, Architect, Security, or similar.
- Microsoft 365 / Intune / Exchange Online certifications
- AWS certifications
- Security, identity, or infrastructure certifications
