Globacore Interactive Technologies

Mississauga

WHO ARE WE?

Globacore is a creative technology studio working at the intersection of hardware, software, video, and physical spaced. We design, build, and deploy interactive experiences for trade shows, brand activations, retail environments, permanent installations, and live events around the world.

Our projects combine creative ambition with practical technical execution. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with real equipment, solving real-world problems, and helping complex systems perform reliably—both in our Mississauga office and onsite with clients.

ABOUT THE ROLE The Interactive Systems Technician is the hands-on link between technical planning and dependable operation. You will prepare, configure, test, document, deploy, support, and recover the hardware and software used in Globacore projects. You will also assist with day-to-day internal IT support and help maintain our equipment inventory and technical workspace.

This role combines in-office system preparation with field deployment. When you are not travelling, you must work from Globacore’s Mississauga office at least three days per week. Project schedules may also require domestic or international travel, evenings, weekends, extended onsite days, and overnight stays.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Prepare and Test Interactive Applications

- Build and configure computers, displays, touchscreens, tablets, media devices, sensors, networking components, electronics, and peripherals.
- Install and configure operating systems, drivers, applications, project software, accounts, and device settings.
- Integrate and bench-test interactive hardware and software under realistic operating conditions.
- Troubleshoot compatibility issues, defects, missing components, and system risks before deployment.
- Prepare systems, spares, tools, cables, labels, and documentation for transport and installation.

Support Technical Planning and Documentation

- Review project requirements, environments, connectivity, power, mounting, software, and operational constraints.
- Provide practical recommendations to the IT Manager on hardware, compatibility, serviceability, and field readiness.
- Create and maintain equipment lists, configuration records, setup instructions, test results, connection references, troubleshooting notes, and support documentation.
- Participate in client, venue, vendor, and partner technical calls when requested.

Manage Equipment, Procurement, and Logistics

- Source products, availability information, documentation, and quotes.
- Place approved orders or submit purchases for approval.
- Receive, inspect, label, track, store, and maintain equipment and accessories.
- Maintain accurate inventory and an organized technical storage setting.

- Coordinate rentals, couriers, shipping, returns, and related documentation.

Deploy and Support Applications Onsite

- Travel to install, configure, test, rehearse, monitor, troubleshoot, and dismantle project systems.
- Work independently when assigned as the sole Globacore technician onsite while maintaining clear communication with the Producer and IT Manager.
- Coordinate with venue technicians, vendors, partners, and client technical contacts on approved setup and troubleshooting activities.
- Remain calm during live issues, isolate likely causes, implement safe solutions, and escalate decisions when appropriate.
- Document configuration changes, incidents, feedback, and unresolved issues.

Complete Handoff and Closeout

- Train approved users or support contacts on startup, operation, basic troubleshooting, shutdown, and escalation procedures.
- Document the final deployed configuration and confirm handoff readiness.
- Coordinate equipment return, inspection, testing, maintenance, restocking, rental returns, and discrepancy reporting.
- Update inventory and project records and capture lessons for future deployments.

Support Internal IT Operations

- Assist with routine workstation, operating-system, application, account, peripheral, connectivity, and meeting-room issues.
- Prepare, deploy, maintain, and recover internal devices and equipment.
- Document recurring issues, fixes, configurations, and support procedures.
- Escalate security, access-control, architecture, procurement, and policy decisions to the IT Manager.

WHAT YOU BRING

- 2 or more years of relevant experience in technical production, AV or interactive applications, systems integration, IT support, field deployment, event technology, or a comparable environment.
- Technical proficiency with Windows, iPadOS, Android, and macOS, plus working familiarity with Linux.
- Practical knowledge of interactive and AV systems such as touchscreens, displays, video walls, sensors, computers, tablets, media devices, and related peripherals.
- Working knowledge of basic networking, including LAN/WAN connectivity, IP addressing, Wi-Fi, DNS, and field troubleshooting.
- Working understanding of electronics and platforms such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
- Demonstrated ability to configure, test, document, install, and troubleshoot integrated hardware and software.

- A calm, logical approach to problem-solving under time pressure and with incomplete information.
- Professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently onsite and collaboratively with remote project teams.
- A valid driver’s licence and passport and the ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Availability for evening and weekend work, extended onsite days, and overnight travel as required.
- The ability to safely transport, lift, position, connect, and install project equipment with appropriate assistance and equipment.
- The ability to work from our Mississauga office at least three days per week when not travelling.

BONUS POINTS

- Experience supporting trade shows, events, museums, retail environments, brand activations, or permanent installations.
- Experience with video distribution, audio systems, display calibration, device management, remote support, cloud services, or networked interactive systems.
- Experience coordinating equipment rentals, couriers, international shipping, customs documentation, or field logistics.
- Experience with Unity deployment, AV-over-IP, media servers, scripting, automation, device management, or remote monitoring.
- Relevant technical, networking, AV, electronics, or IT certifications.

YOU'LL BE SUCCESSFUL HERE IF

- Take ownership from system preparation through onsite deployment, return, and closeout.
- Keep equipment, inventory, configuration records, and technical documentation organized and accurate.
- Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical teammates.
- Plan for field realities—including access, logistics, connectivity, spares, recovery, and handoff.
- Stay constructive and methodical when schedules shift or unexpected technical issues arise.
- Enjoy balancing hands-on project work, onsite travel, and practical day-to-day IT support.

WORK LOCATION AND TRAVEL

This is a hybrid role based in Mississauga, Ontario. When not travelling for project work, the employee is required to work from the Globacore office a minimum of three days per week. Additional in-office days may be required for builds, testing, equipment preparation, shipping, receiving, or other project needs.

Travel is a regular part of this role and may include domestic and international destinations. Depending on project schedules, travel could involve evenings, and weekends, or longer onsite days.

INTERESTED

If you enjoy building reliable systems, using the latest technology, solving practical technical challenges, and seeing your work operate in real-world environments, we would love to hear from you.
