Your Prospect The primary role of the Interior Designer is to work collaboratively with the Interior Design and Architectural team, conceptualizing, developing, and documenting varying aspects of interior design of a project, including but not limited to functional programming, space planning, interior architecture, interior materials and palette, specifications and Furniture/Fixtures and Equipment.
Your Key
Responsibilities - Assist with the development of proposals – layout, graphic - Programming – refinement and edits - Schematic Design – preliminary sketches, drawings, block planning - Design Development – Assist in research of concept, benchmarks, typology, and precedents. Material research and material selections. Initial development of working drawings in AutoCAD and or Revit. Plans, elevations, millwork and details.
- Contract Documents – working drawings: Plans, elevations, millwork and details as well as schedules.
- Contract Administration – review of millwork shop drawings - Supports project team in the development of interior design documentation and presentation materials.
- Assists in the development of a design through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.
- Assists in material and furniture selections, space planning and communication with product representatives. Your Capabilities and Credentials - Good understanding of Revit.
- Experience with the most recent design software (Sketch-up, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator, etc.) is preferred.
- Ability to hand sketch and communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively.
- Basic understanding of lighting/fixtures.
- Basic understanding of client's expectations of deliverables at different phases of projects including construction documents.
- Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Interior Design or related field. Minimum of 1 year of experience.
Pay Range - Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario - $53,700.00 - $75,300.00 Annually Pay Transparency In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
