IT Support Technician
ITX Solutions Inc. – London, Ontario & Surrounding Area
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: $50,000–$75,000 per year, based on skills and experience
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends as required
Work Location: In person / Client locations throughout the London area

We are looking for an IT Support Technician who is professional, personable, technically capable, and passionate about helping clients succeed.
This is a hands-on position that will give you exposure to a wide variety of technologies, environments, and client challenges. You will work both independently and as part of our team, providing technical support remotely from our office and onsite at client locations.
About the Role
As an IT Support Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical issues, maintaining client environments, implementing technology solutions, and providing exceptional customer service.
You will also play an key role in educating clients and identifying potential issues before they become problems. We believe good IT support is more than simply fixing what is broken — it is about understanding the client's business, recommending appropriate solutions, and helping prevent future downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional, courteous, and timely technical support to clients by phone, remotely, and onsite.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, networking, server, cloud, and security issues.
- Install, configure, maintain, and support computer systems, servers, networks, and other technology.
- Identify potential maintenance, security, and infrastructure issues before they result in downtime.
- Educate clients on IT best practices, security, maintenance, and recommended technology solutions.
- Clearly explain technical concepts and solutions to clients using easy-to-understand language.
- Prioritize and manage multiple support requests while meeting service expectations and deadlines.
- Accurately document work performed, technical issues, and resolutions.
- Follow established company policies, procedures, security practices, and documentation standards.
- Escalate complex or urgent issues when appropriate.
- Maintain current knowledge of technology, cybersecurity, industry standards, and best practices.
- Work independently while knowing when to ask for assistance or escalate an issue.
- Assist with IT projects, deployments, upgrades, and infrastructure installations.
- Develop strong, long-term relationships with clients.
- Identify opportunities where additional technology, services, or solutions could benefit a client.
- Travel to client locations throughout the London and surrounding area.

Technical Skills & Experience The ideal candidate will have experience with many of the following technologies: Operating Systems & Microsoft Technologies
- Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems.
- Microsoft 365 / Office 365, including:
- Exchange Online
- OneDrive
- SharePoint
- Microsoft Teams
- Active Directory and user/account administration.
- Microsoft cloud technologies and hosted solutions.
- Apple macOS, iOS, and Android environments.
Networking & Infrastructure
- TCP/IP and network troubleshooting.
- Routers and switches.
- Firewalls and security appliances.
- Wireless networks and wireless controllers.
- VPN technologies.
- Remote support technologies.
- Network infrastructure installation and troubleshooting.
- Structured cabling, cable termination, and network installations.
- Ability to work on ladders and perform physical installation work when required.
Servers & Business Technology
- Server installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Virtualization technologies.
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Email and collaboration platforms.
- Cloud and hosted solutions.
- Security and malware protection solutions.
- Mobile Device Management (MDM).
- Smartphone and tablet configuration and management.
- VoIP and business telephone systems.
Security & Best Practices A strong understanding of IT security, industry standards, and best practices is extremely important. You should be comfortable identifying risks and explaining to clients why recommended security, backup, maintenance, and infrastructure practices are important to the reliability and security of their business.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of IT support experience required.
- Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence required.
- Reliable vehicle and proof of insurance required.
- Ability to travel to client locations throughout the London and surrounding area.
- Ability to provide a clean criminal/sector screening as required.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or similar certifications are considered an asset.
