Position: Job Search Advisor

Location: Vernon Office

Department: Client Services – Resource Centre

Start Date: September 7, 2026

Days/Hours of Work: Mon 9am to 5:30 pm, Tues – Thurs 8:30am to 5pm, Fri 8am to 4:30pm

What you will do

Step into a role that makes a real impact on individuals in our community. Job Search Advisors (JSAs) are the first to welcome clients into Community Futures and help them take the next steps in their employment journey. Every day offers a new way to assist others. Bring your energy, motivation, problem-solving skills, and people-first approach to help our clients learn what’s possible.

You’ll support diverse client populations, assist them with job search steps, and connect them with community resources they can use. Our JSAs have several responsibilities, including job search advising, intake, facilitation,



community engagement, client experience, and sustainment. If you seek a role that’s meaningful, you enjoy helping others, and want to grow in the Career Practitioner sector, becoming a Job Search Advisor is an opportunity to make a difference.

What you bring to the team:

Education and Certification

- Grade 12 completion or equivalent
- Office administration certification or equivalent
- A post-secondary certificate, degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g. Human Service Work, Social Work, or Sociology)
- Any additional professional development or specialized training
- Relevant work experience

Skills and Abilities

- Previous work with not-for-profit and government contracts an asset
- Sales/Customer service experience working with the general public, business community including serving diverse client populations (e.g. Youth, People with Disabilities, multi-barriered clients, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically word, teams, excel and PowerPoint)
- Capable of taking someone’s interests, experience and preferences, alongside your knowledge, and developing practical suggestions

- Proactive, with strong organizational skills and attention for detail

Salary Range: $23.00-$25.00/hour pending experience
