Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated "local to Fort McMurray" Journeymen Welder to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality welding and fabrication tasks that meet precise specifications. Your expertise will contribute to the successful assembly of complex metal structures, ductwork, and mechanical components.

Shift

10 days on, 4 days off, 10 hour days.

Pay

Base rate $50/hr with overtime after 8 hours a day and also after 44 hours a week.

Responsibilities

- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding on various metals, ensuring strong, durable joints that adhere to technical schematics and blueprints
- Read and interpret detailed schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to guide fabrication and assembly processes
- Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape and assemble metal components
- Conduct rigging operations safely when lifting or positioning heavy materials using cranes or forklifts
- Measure materials precisely with calipers, tape measures, and other measuring devices to ensure accuracy in fabrication




- Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues during welding or assembly processes and make necessary adjustments
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all safety protocols related to welding, machining, and construction activities

Experience

- Proven experience as a Journeymen Welder with a strong background in manufacturing or construction environments
- Extensive knowledge of MIG and TIG welding techniques with demonstrated ability to produce high-quality welds
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings for complex assemblies
- Hands-on experience with rigging, crane operation, machining, ductwork fabrication, and assembly tasks
- Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently within a manufacturing or construction setting
- Practical understanding of mechanical systems, schematics, calipers usage, plasma cutting, press brake machines, and hand tools
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication projects
