About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established CPA firm, is seeking a Junior Accounting Technician to join their team. This is an excellent chance for an early-career accounting professional looking to build public practice experience in a collaborative and professional environment. The successful candidate will support client engagements with a focus on Notice to Reader (NTR) files, compilations, and corporate and personal tax preparation.

This role is best suited for someone pursuing a career as an accounting technician or preparer, and the firm is not seeking a CPA student for this position.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare Notice to Reader (NTR) and compilation engagement files for a variety of clients
- Assist with the preparation of corporate tax returns and personal tax returns
- Perform account reconciliations and working paper preparation
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Communicate with clients to obtain financial information and clarify documentation




- Assist senior staff and managers with year-end files and other client deliverables
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with firm standards, timelines, and applicable accounting and tax requirements
- Support various bookkeeping and general accounting tasks as needed

Qualifications

- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Not seeking a CPA student
- 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a public practice or CPA firm environment
- Experience with compilation/NTR engagements and corporate and personal tax preparation is preferred
- Knowledge of CaseWare and tax preparation software is considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines during busy periods
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Eagerness to learn and grow within a public accounting environment
