Adams Lake Indian Band is seeking Junior Systems Administrator to work under the direction of the Adams Lake Band’s IT and Network Systems Manager. The individual’s main responsibilities will be to perform a range of basic technical work involving infrastructure systems support in an Information Technology (IT) setting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Adams Lake Indian Band policies and procedures
· Installing, maintaining, and upgrading servers (Windows and Linux).
· Configuring, installing, monitoring, and troubleshooting network infrastructure (Cabling, switches, Wireless Access Points, routers, firewalls, etc).
· Managing, troubleshooting and upgrading other various technologies such as photocopiers, printers, VoIP phones, cellphones, tablets, etc.
· Manage Active Directory services and supporting server infrastructure.
· Manage Microsoft 365 tenant (Entra, Intune, Exchange Online, etc).
· Providing end-user support, resolving technical issues, and providing technical assistance.
· Performs other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
- CertificateDiplomaDegree in Information Technology, Computer Systems, or a related technical field preferred.
- Experience in Proxmox Virtual Environment and Linux an asset
- Experience in Cisco/Meraki equipment, pfSense and Fortinet equipment an asset
- Experience in Microsoft 365 and MS Server 2019, 2022 & 2025 an asset

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Those normally associated with a typical office environment. Continuous visual concentration on computer/laptop and/or cell phone. The position requires occasionally lifting heavy items, 40 or more pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work is performed in a typical office environment, with some travel required.

Current Criminal Records Check with vulnerable sector clearance, with results acceptable to ALIB.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Part-time permanent position
Wage range: $28 - $35 per hour
Location: 6453 Hillcrest Rd., Chase BC, V0E1M0
Hours per week: 48 hours biweekly (max 24 hrs./week), with flexibility in hours/days of work.
