What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Food Store Manager and Department Managers, the Food Clerk is responsible for:
- Demonstrating day-to-day behaviours and actions that align with and strengthen the Co-operative's vision, mission, values, brand, and focus on safety;
- Providing exceptional customer service throughout the Food Store;
- Assisting with receiving, stocking, rotating, displaying, and facing merchandise;
- Supporting operations in various Food Store departments as required;
- Ensuring products are well-presented, accurately priced, and readily available for customers;
- Assisting customers by answering questions and providing product information;
- Maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and housekeeping standards throughout the store;
- Following established food safety, health and safety, and loss prevention procedures;
- Assisting with promotional displays, merchandising activities, and inventory control;
- Working collaboratively with team members across multiple departments;
- Prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Who you are: You are looking for a career in the retail and:
- Have a Grade 12 education or a combination of relevant experience;
- Have strong customer service and communication skills;
- Have basic computer literacy skills;
- Are available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends;
- Are able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities;
- Are able to lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise as required;
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
- Are action-oriented, customer-focused, and committed to excellence;
- Are honest, trustworthy, and reliable;
- Believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most while recognizing the value that different perspectives bring to achieving shared objectives.
