Raise is currently hiring a Lab Technologist on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, the third largest producer of Canadian oil and natural gas and the second largest refiner and upgrader with extensive midstream and downstream infrastructure. Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description The Lab Technologist will be responsible for conducting routine and specialized laboratory testing, analyzing results, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring laboratory operations meet established safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate robust analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities Laboratory Testing & Analysis
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on samples.
- Analyze and interpret test results to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Assist with the development and validation of laboratory methods and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of test results, procedures, and laboratory activities.
Equipment & Quality
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Ensure testing activities comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve laboratory processes and efficiency.
- Identify and address issues affecting laboratory accuracy or operations.
Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with laboratory and operational teams to ensure efficient workflow.
- Communicate test results and relevant findings effectively.
- Support other laboratory activities and projects as required.
Qualifications
- One of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- Diploma in Chemical Laboratory Technology.
- Minimum 5 years of laboratory experience.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and equipment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Additional Information
- Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off, 11.43 hours per day, Thursday–Wednesday
- Shift: Day shift only
- Travel: Fly-In/Fly-Out from Calgary or Edmonton
- This is a Safety Sensitive position and requires:
- Fit for Work assessment
- Drug & Alcohol Testing – Field Base
- Driver’s Abstract – Field Base
- Audiometric testing
- H2S Alive certification required on Day 1
