The Electrical Project Coordinator is located in Vancouver and reports directly to the Project Manager/Operations Manager.ResponsibilitiesThe Electrical Project Coordinator assists with overall project performance and status from start to finish and in accordance with schedule, specifications and budget. They manage cost, schedule, safety, and quality, and keep the Project Manager well-informed of progress, discrepancies, questions, and any impacts on project plan and schedule. Duties and responsibilities include the following:Establish and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders including Black & McDonald team members, clients, consultants, joint venture partners, trades, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and the community, while keeping them informed of relevant informationAssist in planning and preparing schedules and milestones, and monitor progress against established timelinesComply and ensure work is performed in compliance with applicable HSE legislation and company policies and procedures, contract requirements, and Black & McDonald policies and proceduresMaintain departmental and network databases as required to ensure records are kept current and accurate.Participate in document control, archive project activities, deliverables, tools and findings for use in future projects.Assist the project team to ensure project objectives, schedule, budget, cash flow, policies, procedures,



and performance standards are met in accordance with company policy and contract specificationsCoordinate with the project team to plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and execute project(s) on time, within budget, and in accordance with corporate policyAssist in preparing contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractorsAssists in budget analysis, cost and margin projections, estimate project changes and impactsTrack, interpret, analyze, and report on project dataCompetency RequirementsCommunicates EffectivelyCustomer FocusHolds Self and Others AccountableProblem Solving and InnovationEducation RequirementsA Degree or Diploma in the following would be considered an asset:Electrical Engineering DegreeRed Seal Journeyman Electrician or Electrical Technologist DegreeProject ManagementConstruction Engineering TechnologyConstruction ManagementThe Following Certifications/designations Are Considered An AssetPMP designationGold Seal CertificationConstruction safety certificationsWork Experience Requirements2-3 years as an Electrical Project Coordinator in the construction industryProject experience in utilities construction is considered an assetSkills, Abilities, And Other RequirementsProficient knowledge and understanding of:Contract managementConstruction scheduling, planning, and executionBlue print readingProcurementProject structural design interpretationFinancial statements – read and comprehendEstablished construction practices, procedures and techniquesApplicable local and provincial labour codesManaging / leading union and non-union staffBusiness operations processesOrganization and time managementPrevious experience working with ERP applications, i.E. JD Edwards (Oracle), SAP, etcPrevious experience working with scheduling software's (MS Project or Primavera P6)Proficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)Willing and able to travel to sites around British ColumbiaValid BC Driver’s LicenseThe expected annual salary range for this role is between $70,000 and $85,000. The starting salary will be based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Salary is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package.
