We are looking for an experienced Lead Emergency Technician to join our Edmonton property restoration team.

This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced restoration professional who knows the technical side of emergency mitigation and is ready to help lead, train, and develop a strong emergency response team.

You will take the lead on water, fire, sewer, and other property-loss emergencies, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will also work closely with the Project Manager and Rebuild Supervisor to keep projects moving smoothly from emergency response and mitigation through to reconstruction.

IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) certification is required.

What You'll Do

- Lead emergency mitigation and restoration work involving water, fire and smoke damage, sewer losses, and other property emergencies.
- Assess affected properties and determine mitigation requirements, safety concerns, equipment needs, and appropriate restoration procedures.
- Perform and oversee water extraction, structural drying, demolition, cleaning, containment, equipment setup, monitoring, and related emergency work.
- Provide clear direction and supervision to temporary labour and other resources assigned to emergency projects.
- Train, mentor, and develop an emergency response team through hands-on coaching and reinforcement of restoration best practices.
- Apply IICRC standards and industry best practices to water mitigation and structural drying.
- Conduct moisture inspections, document affected materials, establish drying plans, monitor progress, and adjust equipment as required.
- Maintain accurate job documentation, including photos, moisture readings, equipment records, daily notes, and customer authorizations.
- Coordinate with the Rebuild Supervisor to ensure an efficient transition from mitigation into repair and reconstruction.




- Identify potential changes in scope and communicate them quickly to the appropriate team members.
- Maintain professional and compassionate communication with property owners, insurance representatives, trades, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure company vehicles, tools, drying equipment, and PPE are properly used, maintained, cleaned, and accounted for.
- Maintain safe, clean, organized, and professional job sites.
- Follow company procedures, occupational health and safety requirements, environmental regulations, and applicable restoration standards.
- Participate in the Edmonton Branch emergency/on-call rotation as required.

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in property restoration and emergency mitigation
- IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) certification – required.
- Additional IICRC certifications are considered an asset.
- Previous experience leading, mentoring, or developing people in a restoration, construction, or field-service environment.
- Strong knowledge of water damage mitigation and structural drying.
- Experience with extraction equipment, moisture meters, air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, hand tools, and power tools.
- Knowledge of demolition, cleaning, containment, and restoration procedures.
- Good understanding of building materials and construction practices.
- Strong safety awareness and ability to identify potential job-site hazards.
- Ability to organize crews, prioritize work, and make sound decisions in fast-moving situations.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.




- Professional and customer-focused approach, particularly when working with property owners during stressful situations.
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel throughout Edmonton and surrounding areas.
- Availability to participate in after-hours and on-call emergency response.
