Apex Dock & Door Systems Inc. is a growing commercial and industrial overhead door and loading dock service company based in Cambridge, Ontario.

We are looking for an experienced Lead / Senior Overhead Door & Dock Service Technician who can independently diagnose, repair, maintain and install commercial overhead doors and loading dock equipment while providing professional service to our customers.

What You’ll Do

- Diagnose, service and repair commercial overhead door and loading dock equipment
- Install and service sectional overhead doors, rolling steel doors and operators
- Service dock levellers, dock seals and shelters, vehicle restraints and related equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical/control issues
- Complete preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Independently manage service calls and installations
- Lead jobs and assist with training and mentoring junior technicians
- Communicate professionally with customers and the Apex office
- Complete service notes, photos and documentation through our digital field-management system
- Maintain an organized service vehicle, tools and equipment
- Follow Apex safety procedures and Ontario health and safety requirements
- Participate in a rotating after-hours and weekend emergency service schedule

What We’re Looking For

- 3+ years of commercial overhead door and/or loading dock experience
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Ability to independently run service calls and installations
- Experience with commercial and industrial door systems and loading dock equipment
- Valid Ontario G driver’s licence with a good driving record
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb and work safely with hand and power tools




- Comfortable working from 20-foot extension ladders
- Comfortable working from scissor lifts and other powered access equipment
- Comfortable working at heights
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong work ethic

Experience with welding, fabrication, hydraulics, operators, controls and electrical troubleshooting is considered an asset. Training & Certifications Considered Assets The following training and certifications are considered assets. Candidates are not required to hold all of them:

- Working at Heights / Fall Protection
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Confined Space Awareness

- Boom Lift Training
- First Aid and CPR
- WHMIS / Hazard Communication

Additional relevant trade, manufacturer or safety training is also considered an asset.
