Counsel, Commercial Contracting and Technology The Company is seeking a Legal Counsel professional to join its Legal Department. Reporting to a Senior Director or Director, Legal Counsel, you will primarily provide commercial contracting and advisory support to the Company’s technology, e-commerce, loyalty, and retail media business lines. For this position, you are required to work a minimum of four days per week in one of three offices (downtown Toronto, North York, or Brampton) with a minimum of one day a week in the Brampton head office.

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements Provide the business with counsel on strategic initiatives, projects, and transactions, including identifying risks and proposing practical solutions/mitigation tactics Advise on a variety of matters including technology, privacy, security, and artificial intelligence Work closely with other members of the Legal team, procurement and various risk functions to continuously improve templates, processes, and create efficiencies Be an active participant within the Legal team,



including participation in committees of interest Personally demonstrate and foster within the Legal department a culture of excellence that reflects Loblaw values 2-7 years of commercial contracting experience in an in-house legal department or a large law firm ~ Experience in technology as it relates to commercial transactions and agreements – including SaaS arrangements, software license agreements, and data protection terms – is an asset ~ Further experience in e-commerce, loyalty programs, digital advertising, privacy, security, and/or AI is an additional asset ~ Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously ~ Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario Our commitment to Sustainability and Social Impact is an essential part of the way we do business, and we focus our attention on areas where we can have the greatest impact.
