Under the direction of Director of Care or assigned delegate at our Tiffany Village and Kenny’s Pond locations, the Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for delivering holistic and resident centered care on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities

- Fulfills the duties and responsibilities of a licensed practical nurse with a pleasant demeanor focusing on upholding excellent customer service, recognizing the importance of maintaining these ongoing relationships with all our clients, inclusive of residents, families, guests, volunteers and staff.
- Accountable for the planning and supervision of care, within his/her scope of practice.
- Accountable to provide support and direction to Resident Care Attendants (RCA).
- Monitors resident outcomes, intervenes if necessary, reassesses and adjusts the plan of care or resident assignment as needed, in consultation with the designated, the Director of Care, Health and Wellness or her designate.
- Manages medications as prescribed, observing changes in conditions, reporting and documenting same on the Resident’s chart and to the designate.
- Monitors and manages the safekeeping of narcotics, and ensures daily narcotic counts and end of shift counts are maintained and documented as per Company Policy.
- Maintains regular, timely, follow-up with Pharmacy regarding any medication requirement for the residents.
- Responsible for the daily resident assignment to the RCA staff inclusive of scheduled break times.
- Responsible for giving daily report to all staff coming on for their shift, inclusive of staff working partial shifts.
- Responsible to complete a written report of any relevant changes for her/his residents, as well as giving a verbal report to the LPN coming on shift of any important concerns relating to those residents at the end of each shift.
- Daily unit review with care staff to ensure report is accurate and updated.
- Liaises with family members addressing concerns and/or health care issues.
- Liaises with other members of the Tiffany team as well as the residents’ Physician when necessary.
- Maintains resident records and required documentation in accordance with policies and procedures and legislative requirements.




- Reports unusual occurrences, safety hazards, illness or problems with residents to the designate, Manager of Care, Health and Wellness or designate.
- Orientates new employees and/or mentors students at the request of the Manager of Care, Health and Wellness or designate.
- Maintains a safe, clean environment, adhering to Safe Resident Handling practices.
- Ensures nursing/biomedical equipment and supplies are used, maintained and stored in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. Reports unsafe or faulty equipment to designate and/or Manager of Care, Health and Wellness.
- Observes and reports any changes in residents’ health condition and/or behavior to immediate supervisor and Resident Care Manager or her designate, as deemed appropriate.
- Ensures written documentation and verbal reports are maintained as per Company policy and procedures with respect to confidentiality and security.
- Fosters an environment of engagement, encouragement and safeguard to ensure residents’ health and well-being is maintained, particularly for those seniors who are vulnerable and require guidance/support.
- Performs other related duties as required to ensure quality holistic resident care/service.

- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in working with residents, families, the nursing team, as well as the general public.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates a solid desire to care for seniors, encouraging participation where possible in the activities of daily living, including the provision of one-on-one care where required.

Experience, Training/Education and Work Record:
- Successful completion of an approved Practical Nursing Program and maintains current licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CLPNNL).
- 1-3 years’ previous experience working as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the field of seniors’ care/living and persons with disabilities.
- Successfully meets the necessary employee requirements as stipulated in the operational standards by the Department of Health & Community Services governing agencies with home support licenses.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Focus on resident-centered approach to care.
- Knowledgeable of the importance of and ability to comply with internal policies & procedures.
- Ability to follow direction and complete medical documentation.
- Ability to work in a flexible, resilient environment to meet the needs of residents.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, motivating, compassionate and caring person who has demonstrated a passion to work with seniors.
- A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.

Hours of Work:
- Full-time biweekly hours shall be a minimum of 75 hours.
- Hours will be based on a 12-hour rotational shift schedule between days, nights, and will include weekends and holiday coverage.

Job Types: Full-time, Casual Pay: $33.06 per hour

- Code of Conduct - Vulnerability within the past 6 months? (preferred)
