Role Description The Line Cook is a full-time, on-site position based in Burnaby, BC. In this role, the Line Cook prepares and cooks menu items to order, following established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards for Italian cuisine. Daily responsibilities include setting up and stocking stations, executing dishes during service, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and assisting with prep such as chopping, marinating, and making sauces.

Cook works closely with the kitchen team to ensure food quality, speed, and consistency, supports inventory and rotation of ingredients,



and follows all food safety and sanitation procedures.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in food preparation and cooking, including experience on a busy line and familiarity with Italian or Mediterranean cuisine.
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, including station setup, safe food handling, and basic inventory and stock rotation practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, manage multiple tickets, and maintain high standards for quality and plating.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a professional, respectful approach to colleagues and guests.
- Commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, and workplace safety, including adherence to local health regulations.
- Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar back-of-house role; culinary training or certification is an asset.
- Capacity to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn, with a passion for food and interest in growing within the restaurant industry.
