[Salary & Compensation]

- Hourly Wage: $19.00 – $22.00 / hour (Commensurate with experience)
- Experienced Line Cook ($20.00 - $22.00+): Candidates with proven, hands-on experience specifically in Japanese cuisine and high-volume hot kitchen operations.
- Entry to Mid-Level Cook ($19.00 - $20.00): Candidates with general commercial kitchen experience who require training on Japanese menu items (from scratch prep, miso soup, tempura, grill stations, ramen, etc.).

[Roles & Responsibilities]

- Kitchen Operations: Safely and efficiently operate commercial kitchen equipment, including deep fryers, grills, gas burners, and noodle cookers.
- Food Preparation & Line Cooking: Prepare and execute hot kitchen menu items (e.g., appetizers, tempura, teriyaki, udon, ramen, chicken karaage, etc.) with speed, precision, and consistency.
- Quality & Safety Standards: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized station while adhering strictly to FoodSafe and health regulations.
- Teamwork & Collaboration:



Work seamlessly with the sushi bar and Front-of-House (FOH) staff to ensure fast, efficient, and accurate order tickets during peak rushes.

[Requirements]

- Experience: Prior kitchen experience in Japanese cuisine is highly preferred. General line cook experience in a fast-paced environment is required.
- Legal Work Status: Must be currently authorized to work legally in Canada (Citizen, PR, Open Work Permit, Working Holiday, etc.). Please state your visa status/expiry date if applicable.
- Punctuality & Mindset: Punctuality and reliability are our top priorities. We value a solid work ethic, a positive team-first attitude, and composure under pressure.
- Language: Functional English communication skills to interact effectively with team members.
- Certifications & Education:
- FoodSafe Level 1 certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- High school diploma or equivalent (Culinary education is an asset).
- Schedule & Work Hours:
- Standard Hours: Approximately 35 hours/week (5 days/week).
- Schedule Flexibility: Opportunities for an extra half-day shift depending on staff availability and willingness to work weekends.
- Availability Requirement: Mandatory availability on Fridays and Saturdays.
