An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new member to join our Community Adult Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) team in Aberdeenshire, based at Kincardine Community Hospital, Stonehaven and working across Kincardine and Deeside areas as a speech and language therapy health care support worker, working 18 hours (2.5 days) per week.

The post holder will work under the direct supervision of the local SLTs in the Kincardine and Deeside areas, following programmes for both individuals and groups of adults with acquired disorders of speech, language and communication. In addition the post holder will be expected to prepare therapy resources (so a reasonable level of creative and IT skills is required) and to provide some administrative support.

The Aberdeenshire SLT team is a large and dynamic team covering all of Aberdeenshire. We meet regularly with local mini team and regional full team meetings. We value staff members and focus on their wellbeing. Continuing professional and personal development is well supported and staff members are actively encouraged to contribute to the development of the service as a whole.

The SLTs working in Aberdeenshire are well linked to other SLTs and clinicians across NHS Grampian.

NHS Grampian SLTs teams cover the North East of Scotland serving a region from the Cairngorms to the North Sea including coastal Moray. The ARI hospital site houses all clinical specialties with the exception of organ transplant and paediatric ITU. NHS Grampian provides healthcare for a population of 540,000 with around 40% living within Aberdeen,



40% in Aberdeenshire and the remaining percentage in Moray.

Aberdeenshire boasts many picturesque towns and villages within easy commuting distance and provides access to a large range of outdoor pursuits including skiing.
