Job Overview
We are a fast-paced trading company involved in the importing and exporting of bulk frozen food commodities and seeking an Import/Export Logistics Assistant. This is our entry level position within our Logistics Department. The majority of our business is with Central and South American countries therefore, fluent Spanish and English is required in order to perform and communicate effectively in this position.
This position requires a person who is truly enjoys and wants a career in logistics. Working directly with our Logistics Managers, you will be using your education/prior knowledge on a daily basis with a hands-on approach training within our company. Your ambition, attention to detail and organized work ethics will allow for your success and growth with the company.
Your experience has enlightened you to the challenges faced on a regular basis in managing a logistics desk and enjoy learning from the experience and finding the solution.
Please Note: This is an on-site position only with no opportunity for remote work. Parking is available on-site and our location is accessible by TTC - GO Transit - Mississauga Transit.

Duties
- Working as an Logistics Documentation Coordinator, you will ultimately be responsible for assisting in the following main duties:
* Responsible for preparing and organizing all required documentations in order for goods to move from supplier to customer and complying with USA and Canadian import requirements. This entails reviewing all details on customs documentation on OBL, COO and carrier information and ensuring accuracy.
- Develop and maintain master file charts up to date in order to ensure that all shipments are on schedule as per customer’s requirements and suppliers’ ability to do so
- Upon delivery of contracted goods to customer, ensure the accuracy of all details and send to accounting for billing
- Confirm all contracts requiring Insurance and remit to accounting
- Communicating shipment updates and deliveries to clients as directed
- Communicating with suppliers and customers to resolve issues and problems as they arise (when directed)
- Maintain and build strong relationships with both suppliers and customers
- Follow protocols that are already set-in place to reduce unexpected events
- Negotiate rates with carriers and warehouses (when directed)
Skills
- Spanish a must with good English communication both written and verbal
- Must have a valuable understanding of INCOTERMS
- Strong work ethic and considers this position a career, not a job – punctuality is a MUST
- Ability to work in fast paced environment with changing priorities and able to perform under stressful situations
- Ability to work as a team as well as independently with minimal direction
- Must be detail oriented and organized as daily work involves working with multiple contracts simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability of making decisions in a timely manner in order to avoid/minimize extra costs
- Work experience within Import/Export Logistics is a definite assets
- Proficient in Word, Outlook, data base systems and strong Excel reporting skills
