We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires a solid focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service. The Driver will also be expected to perform routine vehicle inspections and maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle.
Duties
- Operate vehicles to transport freight and materials to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while on the road.
- Assist in basic automotive repair or maintenance as needed to ensure vehicle reliability.
- Operate forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary for loading or unloading tasks.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is preferred; experience in commercial driving is a plus.
- Proven experience in freight transportation or logistics is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of automotive repair is a nice-to-have skill for maintaining vehicle performance.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude are essential for success in this role.
- Must possess a clean driving record and pass any required background checks or drug screenings.
