Job Summary

Malwa Enterprises Inc., a trucking and transportation company based in Edmonton, Alberta, is seeking 2 experienced Long Haul Truck Drivers to join our transportation team.

The successful candidates will operate tractor-trailer units and transport freight on long-haul routes. Drivers will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods while complying with applicable transportation and safety regulations.

Main Duties

- Operate tractor-trailer trucks to transport goods and materials on local, provincial and long-haul routes.
- Plan travel routes and schedules in coordination with dispatch.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections of the truck, trailer and equipment.
- Check tires, brakes, lights, steering and other vehicle components for proper operation.
- Ensure cargo is properly loaded, secured and distributed in accordance with safety requirements.
- Safely load and unload freight when required.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, trip reports, delivery records and other required documentation.
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding routes, delivery schedules, delays and other transportation matters.
- Communicate with customers and provide delivery information when required.
- Report accidents, delays, cargo issues and vehicle defects to dispatch or management.
- Perform emergency roadside repairs when required and report major mechanical problems.
- Follow all applicable provincial,



federal and company transportation and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and secure vehicle and report maintenance requirements.
- Complete bills of lading, delivery documents and other transportation paperwork.
- Perform other duties related to the safe transportation and delivery of freight.

Employment Requirements
- Completion of secondary school may be required.
- Valid Class 1 driver's licence is required.
- Air brake endorsement is required.
- Previous commercial truck driving experience is required.
- Experience operating tractor-trailer combinations is required.
- Clean and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel for extended periods and work long-haul routes.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays when required.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Ability to safely handle and secure freight.
- Ability to comply with applicable hours-of-service requirements.

Work Conditions
- Full-time, permanent employment.
- 40–60 hours per week, depending on operational requirements.
- Long-haul routes may require extended periods away from the home terminal.
- Evening, weekend and holiday work may be required.
- Work is primarily performed on the road.
- Overtime will be paid in accordance with applicable employment standards and transportation regulations.

Wage $29.00 per hour
