Gauer Olsen Chartered Professional Accountants is a well‑established local public accounting firm located in Victoria, BC. We are looking for articling students and staff accountants to start in September 2026.

Responsibilities

- Prepares compilation and review engagement files, financial statements and corporate income tax returns for a wide variety of clients
- Prepares personal income tax returns and trust income tax returns
- Prepares a variety of Tslips
- Fulfills a variety of support roles in accounting and bookkeeping for clients
- Prepares GST and other statutory returns for clients as required
- Assists with special projects as assigned by partners and managers

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree




- Eligible to enroll or currently enrolled in the CPA program
- Strong academic record
- Great work ethic and ability to work in a team environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact professionally with both clients and colleagues
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Additional skills of a preferred candidate

- Familiarity with accounting and tax software (SAGE, QuickBooks, TaxPrep, CaseWare)
- Corporate accounting or financial statement experience
- Corporate tax experience
- Personal tax experience
- Bookkeeping experience
