Dalron Senior Living at its Marina Point Village location in North Bay, Ontario is seeking a dependable and hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role supports the day-to-day maintenance, safety, and overall upkeep of our retirement community, helping ensure a comfortable and well-maintained environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The position is well suited for someone who enjoys a variety of tasks including preventative maintenance, minor repairs, grounds upkeep and supporting overall building operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Complete daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and environmental services checklists.
· Review and respond to maintenance requests, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and operational needs.
· Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, basic repairs, and assisting with small building maintenance items.
· Identify and report larger or complex maintenance issues to the Administrator or maintenance leadership for follow up.
· Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of service areas including garbage and recycling rooms.
· Put out and return garbage and recycling bins according to scheduled collection days.
· Maintain exterior areas by keeping grounds clear of debris and ensuring the property remains clean and presentable.
· Order housekeeping and laundry supplies through the electronic ordering system and assist with monthly inventory counts.
· Support contractors while onsite and assist with access to work areas as required.
· Provide general operational support to environmental services including housekeeping, laundry, and facility related tasks as directed.
· Respond to urgent maintenance concerns or emergency calls outside regular hours when required.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Minimum 3 years of building or facility maintenance experience (retirement home, long term care, property maintenance or similar environment preferred)
· Experience with plumbing, drywall repairs, carpentry, and general building maintenance
· Comfortable using hand and power tools
· Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and maintenance instructions
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
· Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
· Valid G driver’s license required
· Valid First Aid and CPR certification required or willingness to obtain
· Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work on ladders when required
· Basic computer skills and comfort using electronic ordering or reporting systems.
