Overview

We are a busy greenhouse vegetable farm looking for an experienced, hands-on maintenance worker to join our team. This role will have a lot of variety for someone who likes fixing things, solving practical problems, and seeing jobs through to completion. On a given day you might be cutting grass or plowing snow, replacing a bearing on an automated sprayer, replumbing PVC irrigation lines, or setting up and calibrating new equipment.

Responsibilities

- Conduct regularly scheduled inspections and maintenance tasks
- Perform mechanical, electrical and plumbing repairs on equipment and buildings
- Research, pick up and/or order parts from suppliers
- Maintain property through landscaping and snow removal
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used
- Create simple machines to improve farm activities
- Support outside vendors and contractors doing specialty work
- Testing and calibration of equipment

Skills

- Proven experience in maintenance or related field with a strong understanding of repair techniques
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems effectively




- Robust problem-solving skills and ability to identify issues before they escalate
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and report on maintenance activities clearly
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in tight spaces
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures to maintain compliance with health regulations
- Class G Driver's license required, additional licensing an asset
- Experience operating farm/heavy equipment an asset

Time Commitments

- Regular schedule is Monday-Friday 7:00am - 5:00pm
- 2 Saturdays per month
- 2 Stat Holidays per year
